Product Update September 2023

We've been hard at work building new features that you've been asking for, and we're excited to run through everything we added this month.

High Signal Stars

Fake Stars Assessment was a part of our initial release, and it has proven to be incredibly useful in detecting fraud and fake stars. However, it didn't provide insights into the people behind those stars. Until now. We have thoroughly analyzed all stargazers' profiles and identified genuine engineers and Github power users who actively contribute to open-source projects. High Signal Stars metric counts stars only from them. This feature is already available on your dashboard!

Next month, we plan to explore how to extract even more valuable signals from stars. For instance, we aim to show where they work and provide additional information using their commit history or connected social networks, such as Twitter.

Weekly Deal Flow

Many of you expressed the desire for assistance in sourcing new companies, and we've got you covered. Here's the first category for you.

Idea: Identifying very early-stage companies that have recently gained significant traction. You'll be among the first to invest if you reach out to them.

Criteria: We're looking for companies with low initial stars but a high growth count and only considering High Signal Stars.

Pre-vetted: These are potentially fundable companies. This is not just a tutorial, a random checklist, or a project from a big corporation.

Imported to the dashboard: All the analysis has been completed, and these companies are already available on your dashboard.

When? You can expect these updates to arrive on your dashboard and in your inbox on Oct 6!

In the coming months, we plan to expand Deal Flow categories, including collections of pre-vetted companies within specific industries and patterns of growth. For example, what about companies with long and steady growth?

New categories UI

Now, all companies are grouped in folders. This will allow us to share a more structured deal flow with you while keeping your requests separated. E.g., you can find the YC S23 category or internal tools.

The companies you requested are visible only to you and collected in a separate Made for You section. You can request any company. It will appear in your dashboard in 24 hours.
